Amendment Filing

Did you make any errors in filing your tax returns? Don’t worry! If your filing errors are related to tax computation math errors, the IRS may correct your math calculations. It would also accept returns without a few schedules or forms. In such cases, you don’t need to make any amendment filing from your end.

If your errors involve mistakes in income, filing status, credits, or income deduction, you would need to amend your returns. For claiming a refund, you have to file Form 1040X — to be done within 3 years from the date you have filed your original tax return or within 2 years from the date you have paid the taxes— whichever is later. To be noted, the taxes you have filed even before the due date are considered as filed on the due date.

Amendment filing needs to be done through a separate Form 1040X for each tax year returns’ you want to amend. While mailing amended tax returns, you need to send each form in a separate envelope. Sounds complex? TaxMasterExperts eases the amendment filing process for you. We take care of all the processes involved in filing an amended tax return.
